Why Get a Prenatal Massage?

Pregnancy or Prenatal Massage can be very gentle while still being effective. Firm pressure massage is also okay in pregnancy. Deep tissue, trigger point work, hot stones and cupping are not allowed in pregnancy but firm pressure can be applied to most areas during a prenatal massage allowing for the serious relief that mamas need. There are many benefits for the mother such as increasing energy, easing aches and pains, reducing fluid retention and releasing stress.

We have 2 types of prenatal tables. Our most popular table has a cutout for the belly and breasts so that you can lay comfortably in a face-down position during part of the massage. 99% of mamas choose this option. Our other table choice is to lay on your side with 1 pillow supporting your head and a body pillow to hug while you are massaged laying on your side. We also have wedge pillows to prop you up while you lay face up so that your baby is supported and you aren’t completely flat on your back.

During pregnancy a woman’s body releases a hormone called Relaxin. This hormone’s job is to soften the bones, tendons and ligaments to make room for a growing baby and ultimately a successful labor & delivery. Massage during pregnancy helps to move that Relaxin all over the body leaving your muscles feeling loose and you feeling very relaxed and happy.

Note: All clients must be at least a minimum of 12 weeks pregnant to receive any type of massage.

I’m about 30 weeks pregnant and my back had been killing me for a couple weeks. I had two pulled muscles and it hurt to walk. I scheduled a one hour prenatal massage and my therapist worked wonders!
