What to Expect
When you schedule an Integrative Medicine consult at Nurturing Touch, you get the best of western and eastern medicine. Your consult will be with a Doctor of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine or Oriental Medicine. Both of our doctors have extensive experience in treating patients from an integrative approach. Unlike western doctor appointments, your initial consult at Nurturing Touch allows time for a thorough review of your health history and a discussion of your current concerns and areas you would like to address. The more we know about you, the better we can help you.
A note from our doctors: We utilize our western medicine knowledge as well as our Eastern Medicine diagnosis skills to see our patients from both perspectives. We then make recommendations of which tests should be run to give patients a more concrete idea of what is going on in their body.
Cancellation Policy
To better serve our clients and manage appointment availability, our Integrative Medicine cancellation policy is changing from 24-hour notice to 48-hour notice.
We kindly ask that all appointment cancellations or rescheduling requests be made at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. Missed appointments or no-shows may also be charged according to our cancellation policy.
We understand that unexpected situations can happen, and we appreciate your communication as early as possible if you need to make changes to your appointment.

If you’ve done the DUTCH test, once you’ve completed it, you ship it in yourself with prepaid postage. Once the test results are in, DUTCH labs will notify us and we will reach out to schedule your follow up to go over the test results and recommendations for treatment.
If you did cortisol testing or blood draw for labs, we will notify you once all of your results have been reported back to our office and schedule you for either a 45 or 90 minute results appointment depending on the complexity of your labs and treatment recommendations.

Many times, we are able to give holistic recommendations during the initial consult that patients can start implementing right away. These holistic recommendations may include:
What Happens Next?
Once a patient has completed all of their labs and we have the results, we schedule another appointment to go over the results as well as additional holistic recommendations for treatment. We work with you and offer recommendations based on your interest. For example, some patients are more interested in a supplement list rather than making dietary changes. Other patients are interested in acupuncture but don’t want to take supplements. We will customize our recommendations to what you are willing to implement because results don’t happen without your implementation.
We recommend follow-up labs and consults to track results depending on what labs are outside of optimal range. It is so rewarding for both patients and ourselves when we can see the improvement in labs that are a direct result of holistic recommendations our patients have implemented with our guidance.
